Getting a good night's sleep
/In the still of the night . . . . Fred Parris, lead vocal of the group wrote a song by this title in 1955 at the basement of a local church. But let’s talk about sleep. Sound sleep. And let’s imagine the dreams of those who are sleeping in your house. Young Hector dreams of a monster as tall as London’s Big Ben. Calliope dreams she is a unicorn in the garden. Annie dreams she is young again. She is going to a dance with Joe Namath. He whispers a secret in her ear. This is an exercise in imagination – for it is not your dreams you are writing about. It is what you imagine someone in your house is dreaming in the still of the night.
